If you would like to become a SOMA supporter, the first thing we need is your prayers.
Team members on mission are doing God’s work, and whether you believe in the supernatural or not, the team face spiritual opposition in the areas they visit.
For every mission that goes out, SOMA need the supporters ‘back home’ to continue praying for protection, words of knowledge, leadership, and the power of Holy Spirit to be demonstrated in the place.
If you would like to recieve regular prayer updates by quarterly email, then please fill out the registration details below.
If you would like to an intercessor, committing to pray daily for the work of SOMA and for teams while they are abroad; please complete the form below and tick the box to become an intercessor and we will be in touch with you.
SOMA is a registered charity, that relies on donations and personal contributions from SOMA supporters.
Obviously an organisation that does the work of ministering across the globe, preparing and publishing newsletters and other publications and conducting training cannot run without money.
If you are blessed enough to be able to afford to help out, there are a few ways you can assist.
• Donate to flight costs
• Donate to publication costs
• Donate to general operating expenses
• Donate to where most needed.
Please complete the below form and we can email you through details on how you can contribute. Thank you.
Is this for you?
The thought of “going on a mission” can be daunting for some people, others find it an exciting prospect. Either way, if you think God is prompting you to investigate, you’re in the right spot.
SOMA Teams are made up of both clergy and lay people of differing experience. Although some training in ministry would be of benefit, it isn’t required. Teams are trained for the mission before leaving (if from the same location) or during transit if available. Materials are continually being produced and updated to assist team members before, during, and after mission experiences. Keep an eye on the Training page for more information as it comes to hand.
A mission can range from one to three weeks in a diocese, the following tasks are usually conducted:
• Talking and leading seminars
• Speaking at conferences
• Sharing with parish or community groups
• Preaching / sharing at Sunday services in the visiting parishes
• Ministry times / praying with and for people
The host diocese has historically met the cost of accommodation and hospitality, but in the current economic climate we find we need to help with this in some countries. The cost of travel and admin fees (visas, immigration etc) is the responsibility of the team members. Approximate costs are always known beforehand, and team members are encouraged to obtain support from their local church and to fundraise and in doing so raise prayer support and awareness as well as funds.
Teams come at the invitation of a local Anglican Bishop and come for anything from 10 days to several weeks. Each mission looks different and is tailored to the needs of the individual diocese or parish, content includes renewal teaching and ministry.
Teams include experienced and current church leaders and a mix of lay and ordained team members who can teach, preach and pray with leaders and congregants. Our teams are often drawn from more than one nation.
